Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group Named an OptumHealth Reproductive Resource Services Center of Excellence
 
We’re excited to announce that we have been recognized and welcomed byOptumHealth into its Reproductive Resource Services (RRS) Centers of Excellence network program. OptumHealth has provided access to clinically superior, cost-effective health care for complex medical conditions since 1986. Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group (PREG) has met the clinical criteria and has been qualified as a Fertility Center of Excellence in the OptumHealth (United Resource Network for United Healthcare). The Fertility Centers of Excellence is based on IVF pregnancy success rates, the number of embryos transferred and other scientific data. Dr. Nichols, Dr. Payne and the staff of Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group(PREG) are extremely proud of this accomplishment and of our IVF success rates.
 

OptumHealth's ParentSteps Program

Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group is recognized as a Center of Excellence by OptumHealth and is also a participating provider in the ParentSteps program. Through this program, patients who possess very minimal or no infertility coverage become eligible to receive on average a 10 to 20 % discount on the following treatments:

•    Super Ovulation with Insemination (Ovulation Induction with Insemination)
•    In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

The following procedures will also be discounted if your fertility specialist determines they will be necessary in your IVF treatment plan:

•    Assisted Hatching
•    Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Reduced Tubal Reversal Surgery Fee's For A Limited Time Only ($1000 savings through November 30th, 2009)
PREG is offering a discount for all tubal reversals that are performed before November 30th, 2009. The cost of the tubal reversal will be $5000 which will cover the initial consultation, surgeon's fee, operating room fee, and post operative visit. The anesthesia will be a separate fee or $500 paid on the day of surgery to the anesthesia provider. The usual fee is $6500.
Any patients that are interested must be scheduled and have the surgery completed before November 30th, 2009.
 
PREG is now offering an Minimal In-vitro Fertilization. Minimal IVF is an alternative IVF treatment in which less medication and less aggressive ovarian stimulation is performed mimicking a more "natural" cycle as well as being a significantly less costly alternative to a Standard IVF cycle.

Dr. Payne- elected Secretary of the Greenville County Medical Society

Dr. John F. Payne, MD, a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist with Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group (PREG) has been nominated and elected as the new Secretary for the Greenville County Medical Society (GCMS) in South Carolina. His appointment is for a one year term for 2009 and will be approved by the GCMS membership at the next meeting on March 17, 2009. Dr. Payne is also a member on the GCMS executive committee.
The GCMS membership includes over 950 physicians and works hard for its members and acts as a healthcare advocate for our community. Some GCMS programs include the Physician Referral Service to help the public find primary care and specialists and seek information on Greenville’s healthcare services. GCMS scholarships assist Greenville county residents attending South Carolina medical schools. The GCMS Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization, enables the continuation of MedWell Access, which allows continuity of healthcare services to working low income patients and also represents the care and compassion of physicians in Greenville County.

IVF Seminar announced- June 18th, 2009 in Asheville, NC

Attend to register for a Free Cycle of IVF!
PREG is offering an In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) Seminar on June 18th, 2009 at the Women's Wellness and Education Center in Asheville, NC in the community room. In this special seminar, our fertility experts will explain the causes of infertility, how we evaluate infertility, and what treatment options are available for infertility. The process of IVF will be explained and questions will be gladly answered. All seminars take place from 6:30- 8:00 pm with time afterwards for all questions.

Only about 5% of physicians in the United States have this prestigious award.  Dr. Nichols is a Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist specializing in infertility treatments such as intrauterine inseminations and In Vitro Fertilization and is the Medical Director at PREG.  Congratulations, Dr. Nichols!
